My Team Improvements Lead The Pack

F1 25 My Team introduces a substantial redesign to the career mode first added to the series in 2020. Instead of focusing on a single driver, the updated experience puts players in charge of a team and two drivers, with new systems for contracts, facilities, sponsors, and team development. These changes give players more decisions to consider between races as well as on track.

F1 25 My Team adds two-driver management

The revised mode, described as My Team 2.0, puts you in the role of a team owner responsible for managing two drivers at once. This creates new considerations when recruiting, negotiating contracts, and maintaining each driver’s view of the team. Driver perception matters, so team performance and contract discussions can influence how each driver relates to the organization.

As you progress through the season, your team owner earns experience based on performance. You can use that experience to improve owner skills and develop a management approach suited to your priorities. A practical way to get more from this system is to consider which areas of team management need support before selecting upgrades.

Team HQ, facilities, and research upgrades

Between races, players return to Team HQ, where facility development has a more detailed structure. Upgrades can be selected at a more granular level, while workforce management adds a budget decision: a larger support team may offer benefits, but maintaining more staff also comes with a cost. Consider the trade-off before expanding, rather than treating staff size as an automatic upgrade.

Research and Development is now separated into distinct systems. Decisions in this area connect with perks, facility improvements, and other Team HQ activities, making it useful to think about how upgrades work together. Planning around your chosen priorities can help avoid spending resources on improvements that do not support your wider strategy.

Fan rating, rivalries, and sponsors

Team performance in rivalries against other teams contributes to Fan Rating, which reflects sentiment around your organization. This gives rivalries a role beyond the immediate race result: consistent performance can also shape how the team is regarded. Keep an eye on these matchups as you make decisions throughout the season.

Sponsors use a loyalty- and relationship-based system. Building a stronger relationship over time can unlock benefits and additional customization options. Sponsors may also bring events to the mode based on their beliefs and backgrounds. Reviewing these opportunities as they appear can help you understand what each relationship offers.

Driver Icons and additional career content

Both My Team and Driver Career include expanded use of Driver Icons. For the first time, AI-controlled teams can recruit Icons, and players can enable or disable individual Icons. These settings offer a way to tailor the career experience to personal preference.

The two modes also include content connected to Konnersport, the fictional team featured in F1 25’s Braking Point story mode, as well as the upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. Movie-related content is largely exclusive to the Iconic Edition, so check the edition details if that content is important to you.

F1 25 release date and editions

F1 25 was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 30, 2025. The Iconic Edition offered three days of early access, beginning May 27. Since the release date has passed, check current platform and edition information for availability and included content.

What the F1 25 My Team changes mean

F1 25 My Team expands the career mode with two-driver oversight, more detailed facility and workforce decisions, interconnected development systems, and longer-term sponsor relationships. Players who enjoy managing the organization as well as competing in races have more factors to balance across a season. For the best results, review contract needs, facility costs, and upgrade priorities regularly rather than making each decision in isolation.
