The Jaeger is the defining new threat in The Outlast Trials Season 3, arriving with Project Relapse on April 22. This persistent enemy stalks players during trials, adding pressure to objectives and making teamwork more important. The season also continues the story after Amelia Collier’s failed escape in Season 2.

The Jaeger in The Outlast Trials Season 3
After the rebellion fails, Murkoff captures Amelia and leaves her unconscious body suspended above the starting hub. Her presence serves as a stark reminder of the danger facing the Reagents. Even so, players continue trying to escape, now with the Jaeger standing in their way.
Once known as Henrietta Grubbs, the Jaeger has become a much more imposing opponent. She towers over players, wearing an intimidating iron mask and carrying a powerful, muscular build. She moves slowly, but her strength and durability make close encounters especially dangerous.
Bottles and other projectiles can make her flinch, but only briefly. Use that moment to create distance or get out of her reach rather than expecting a thrown item to stop her. If she catches a player, she can lift them and deliver a heavy punch that may down them in one hit.

How the Jaeger changes trial objectives
The new story trial, Liquidate the Union, takes place in the Suburbs, a staged town filled with unsettling mannequins. Players must solve environmental puzzles, including finding symbols that reveal a pin pad code. While they work, the Jaeger begins hunting them with what the developers describe as a “Terminator-like” determination.
She generally targets one player at a time, giving the group a chance to divide responsibilities. The person being pursued can try to draw her away while teammates solve the puzzle. However, she eventually changes targets, so the group needs to stay alert and be ready to adapt. A useful approach is to communicate the Jaeger’s location and keep track of the objective even when the trial becomes chaotic.
After the team opens the door, they find a union boss strapped to a standing bed on a conveyor track moving backward through the level. The objective then becomes an escort mission: protect the “payload” while fending off attackers. The preview ended before the sequence’s outcome was shown.
Season 3 updates and the nudity filter
Project Relapse introduces a nudity filter that adds a pixelated effect to exposed areas on naked characters and bodies, including the Jaeger. It may be useful for content creators who want to adjust what appears in gameplay footage. Players can consider enabling it before recording or streaming.
The season also adds a Trial Maker, which lets players build custom Trials by combining Challenges and Variators, then share them with others. Additional content includes two new MK-Challenges and a new deluxe catalog.
What to expect from The Jaeger
The Jaeger is scheduled to appear in every trial during the first month of Season 3, giving players frequent chances to learn her behavior. Her brief vulnerability to projectiles, shifting targets, and ability to disrupt puzzle-solving make awareness and coordination essential. For players returning to The Outlast Trials, The Jaeger is a central reason to rethink how the team handles objectives and escapes.
