Sunwise Games is a new independent PC game studio formed by 26 developers who previously worked together at Boss Fight Entertainment. Led by CEO and co-founder Irin Berry, the studio says it plans to make systems-driven games with long-term depth, clear progression, and monetization designed to respect players.

Sunwise Games brings former Boss Fight colleagues together
Berry announced the studio in a LinkedIn post, describing a team built around experienced developers who have shipped and supported games together. Sunwise is currently made up of 30 people: the 26 original Boss Fight team members and additional hires selected for their skills, creativity, and shared values.
Berry said the group had already collaborated on several complex games, including a title that reached the number-one position in dozens of countries and attracted a global audience. The developers chose to remain together after Boss Fight closed rather than disperse into separate teams.
The studio describes itself as intentionally small and senior-led, with a structure aimed at sustainability instead of rapid expansion. For players, that stated approach signals a focus on carefully developed games, though Sunwise has not yet shared details about its first project.
What Sunwise Games plans to make
Sunwise says its work will focus on interconnected game systems, meaningful progression, and experiences designed to offer depth over time. The studio also highlights respectful monetization as a guiding principle. These are broad design goals, not a description of specific features, so details such as genre, pricing, and gameplay remain unannounced.
The team has said it hopes to reveal its first PC-first title soon. Until then, the clearest information available is the studio’s platform focus and its stated development values. Players interested in the project will need to wait for an official announcement before drawing conclusions about release timing or business model.
How Boss Fight Entertainment fits into the story
Netflix acquired US-based Boss Fight Entertainment in 2022. The studio, then ten years old, was known for the free-to-play mobile game Dungeon Boss and became part of Netflix’s internal game development group.
Netflix shut down Boss Fight in October 2025. The closure came despite the success of Squid Game: Unleashed. Former lead game engineer Irin Berry said that game topped charts globally and reached tens of millions of players worldwide during its first months.
That history provides context for Sunwise’s formation: many of its developers have experience building and operating games for large audiences. However, the new studio is independent and has not announced that it is continuing any former Boss Fight or Netflix game.
What to watch for next
The most useful updates to look for are the first game’s title, genre, gameplay details, and release plans. Sunwise has not provided those specifics yet, but it has confirmed that the project will be PC-first and that the studio intends to prioritize long-term depth and clear progression.
For now, Sunwise Games represents a new independent venture built by a team with shared development experience. Its first project announcement will show how the studio’s stated principles translate into a finished game.
