Fortnite iOS downloads climbed to an estimated 3.4 million during the game’s latest global return, according to AppMagic data. The total marks Fortnite’s strongest seven-day period since its original iOS launch in 2018 and offers a clear measure of the renewed interest following its expanded availability.

Fortnite iOS downloads reach an eight-year high
AppMagic estimates that Fortnite recorded 3.4 million downloads in the first seven days of its global iOS relaunch. That is close to the 3.7 million downloads reported during the game’s launch week in 2018. It also exceeds the 3.1 million recorded in its second week and ranks as Fortnite’s fourth-strongest week on the App Store.
These figures refer to downloads, not the number of people actively playing. Install totals can show how many times an app was downloaded, but they do not establish how often players returned or how long they spent in the game. Readers comparing app performance should keep those different measures in mind.
Which countries recorded the most installs?
Saudi Arabia led the reported country totals with 474,000 installs. France followed with 366,000, while the UK recorded 307,000. The US had 151,000 installs over the same period, considerably fewer than each of the three leading markets.
The country breakdown highlights how widely the relaunch reached beyond the US. For a fair comparison, it is useful to consider the same reporting period across every market; figures from different dates may reflect different availability and levels of exposure.
Daily downloads surged after the relaunch
The launch was also accompanied by a sharp rise in daily installs. Downloads increased by 1,408%, from approximately 19,000 on May 18 to nearly 290,000 on May 19. The daily total then peaked at 674,000 on May 23.
That peak came close to Fortnite’s all-time daily download record of 764,000, set during its original iOS launch. It also surpassed the previous daily peak of 569,000, recorded on May 24, 2025, shortly after the game returned to iOS in the US. Daily peaks and weekly totals describe different time frames, so they should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.
Where Fortnite is available on iOS
Fortnite first launched on iOS in March 2018 and was removed in 2020 for violating App Store rules. The game returned to select markets, including the US, last year. Its latest global release expanded availability to major markets such as Germany, the UK, Canada and Japan.
Availability is not universal: Fortnite remains unavailable in Australia. Epic Games has described the situation as involving an “illegal payment arrangement with Apple.” Because access can vary by country, players should check the current availability in their own market before looking for the game.
What the download figures indicate
The estimated 3.4 million installs show that Fortnite’s wider iOS return generated its strongest seven-day download period since 2018. The near-record daily peak and strong totals in several countries provide further context, while download data alone cannot show ongoing engagement or explain why each person installed the game.
Overall, Fortnite iOS downloads point to a substantial response to the global relaunch, with the latest seven-day total approaching the game’s original launch-week performance.
