Maverick Games first partnered with Amazon Game Studios in 2024 for the then-unannounced project. Amazon later ended the agreement, saying it would concentrate on projects that make use of the company’s particular strengths and scale.
After that change, Maverick co-founder and COO Harinder Sangha said the studio was in active discussions with potential partners that shared its long-term ambitions for the intellectual property. Focus Entertainment has now taken on publishing duties for Clutch.
