No Rest for the Wicked is now scheduled to leave early access and launch in full in March 2027. Moon Studios says the action RPG is nearing completion, but it wants more time to improve the game before its 1.0 release. For players following the launch, the delay also means further beta opportunities and a change to the original release schedule.

No Rest for the Wicked release date and delay details
The full release was initially planned for October 2026. Moon Studios has moved that date to March 2027, extending the early access period for the game, which first became available in April 2024. As of July 2026, it had sold two million copies.
The studio described the game as close to its 1.0 release, but said it was not yet ready to meet the quality standard it has set. Moon Studios explained that it is a small team and does not want to launch before the game is ready.
For players, the revised date means the early access version will remain the way to play before launch. Anyone considering buying during this period should keep in mind that the full release is not expected until March 2027.
What the extra development time will be used for
Moon Studios says the additional months will go toward performance improvements, refining the class system and polishing the overall experience. The team also plans to hold more closed and open beta tests in the coming months, giving community members opportunities to try builds and offer feedback.
Thomas Mahler, the studio’s founder, said the team had been working to add content and bring the planned 1.0 features together. After extensive playtesting, the developers concluded they needed more time to complete that work and address remaining bugs.
The studio’s development process for the game began with early prototypes in 2016. Mahler said the team wants the final version to provide a strong experience rather than release while known issues remain. Beta participants should expect builds to be works in progress; reporting reproducible problems can help developers identify issues before launch.
Beta tests, Founders Pack Rewards and PlayStation pre-orders
An open beta test is scheduled for December. Moon Studios has also announced that customers who purchase the game before January 1, 2027, will receive Founders Pack Rewards in recognition of their support during early access.
PlayStation pre-orders are planned to begin in January 2027. Players on that platform will also be able to earn the rewards. If you are deciding when to buy, check the latest official information for the applicable purchase window and platform details, as both the release schedule and reward eligibility are time-sensitive.
What the March 2027 launch means for players
The delay gives Moon Studios more time to work on performance, the class system and final polish, while extending the period in which players can access the early version and take part in testing. No Rest for the Wicked is currently planned for a March 2027 full release, with the December open beta and January PlayStation pre-orders among the announced dates to watch.
