Nintendo said pricing decisions reflect several considerations, including market conditions, sales trends, the number of users on its platform, and profitability. The company has also identified memory-component shortages and rising memory costs as factors that could affect hardware profitability. Price revisions for South Korea were to be announced separately.
What the price increase means for buyers
For UK and Irish buyers, the clearest point to note is the September 1 start date and the difference between the old and new prices. Anyone comparing prices should also check whether a retailer’s displayed amount includes applicable taxes and whether it reflects the revised price.
The Nintendo Switch 2 price increase in the UK and Ireland is part of broader regional pricing changes, but the dates and amounts are not identical across every market. Check local listings for the final price before purchasing.
