Nvidia Gamescom 2026 announcements span graphics technology, game support and cloud gaming. The updates include DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, ray-traced Nanite through RTX Mega Geometry, native anti-cheat support for an upcoming platform, and new GeForce Now features.
Nvidia Gamescom 2026: DLSS 4.5 and game support
DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is available through the Nvidia app for all GeForce RTX GPUs. Nvidia says its second-generation transformer model combines denoising and Super Resolution in one system to improve image quality in ray-traced and path-traced games.
Thirty games support the feature at launch, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Developers can also add it to their games through official updates. Players should check each title’s settings and update notes, since support and available graphics options can vary by game.
The announcement follows discussion of DLSS 5, which some critics said could give character models an AI-generated look at the expense of artistic control. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang rejected that criticism, saying the technology combines game geometry and textures with generative AI while keeping developers in control. Bethesda, Capcom, NetEase, NCSoft, Tencent, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Games have backed DLSS 5.
Ray-traced Nanite arrives with RTX Mega Geometry
Gears of War: E-Day, scheduled to launch on October 6, will debut RTX Mega Geometry. The technology enables Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite geometry system to render at full detail in ray tracing.
Nvidia says the feature is the result of six years of research and development and will be adopted into Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing 2.0 standard. That could extend ray-traced Nanite support to other Unreal Engine 5 games. The practical benefit will depend on how developers implement the feature and how well a player’s PC handles demanding ray-tracing settings.
RTX Spark adds publisher and anti-cheat support
Nvidia confirmed that Electronic Arts, Embark Studios and Ubisoft are bringing games to RTX Spark, an upcoming Windows platform that combines DLSS and Reflex with on-device AI agents. The platform is expected this fall. Announced titles include EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends and Arc Raiders, joining support from Krafton, NetEase, Riot Games and Xbox.
Nvidia also worked with EA to bring native support for its Javelin anti-cheat system to the platform. For players, native integration is intended to make the anti-cheat technology part of the platform’s game-support setup; individual game requirements may still apply.
More ray tracing, modding and GeForce Now updates
Control Resonant is set to launch with the DLSS 4.5 suite, including Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, alongside path-traced effects. 007 First Light adds path tracing and Ray Reconstruction on September 15. Nvidia also listed DLSS 4.5 or ray-tracing support for eight more games, including Aion 2, Black State and Ananta.
RTX Remix, Nvidia’s path-tracing modding toolkit, now supports DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation. A new Painkiller RTX update remasters the game’s first 15 levels, while a revealed Morrowind RTX mod covers Seyda Neen and Balmora. Mod features can depend on the specific project and hardware, so check the individual mod’s requirements before installing.
GeForce Now has added GOG single sign-on and official Firefox support, both available now. Compatibility with Steam Machine, Steam Controller and Fire TV is planned to expand later this year. Day-one streaming is also planned for games such as Control Resonant and Gears of War: E-Day. Nvidia’s hardware partners also unveiled new displays, including AGON by AOC’s first 5K G-SYNC Pulsar monitor.
What the Nvidia Gamescom 2026 updates mean
The Nvidia Gamescom 2026 announcements cover both upcoming technology and features players can use now. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is available through the Nvidia app, while RTX Mega Geometry, RTX Spark and several GeForce Now compatibility updates are tied to future game or platform rollouts. Check a game’s official update information and your device’s compatibility before expecting a specific feature to be available.
