Gunzilla Games salary delays: what staff have reported
Current and former staff have raised concerns publicly about delayed pay. Talent acquisition lead Anna Savina described experiencing “significant salary delays” without an explanation. She later updated her post to say that the situation had been resolved. Her update does not establish that all reported payment issues across the company have been settled.
Former principal hard surface artist Oleksandr Linovichenko said he had not received payment for work completed in August and September. Former principal weapon and hard surface artist Anton Kharyn reported the same months of unpaid work. Both had left the company by the time they described their situations.
Canadian contractor Paul Creamer said he had not been paid since October 2025, despite continuing to work for Gunzilla until December on the expectation that the outstanding amount would be paid. He said management had described the delays as temporary and linked them to the challenges of being a new company with a new game.
Reports describe different payment issues by region
Former and current staff have alleged that the problems have continued over an extended period. Ukrainian employees reportedly said they had gone around six months without pay, with some workers owed four or five months’ salary. International contractors also described repeated assurances that payment would arrive soon, including claims of outstanding payments dating back to October 2025.
Staff in the UK and Germany were generally reported to have received their pay, although the UK operation had sometimes paid late. At the time of the report, some employees in both countries said they had not been paid for work in March. The account does not specify the year for that March reference.
UK staff also raised concerns about pension contributions. They said deductions appeared on payslips but contributions were not made between May and September. The company reportedly attributed the issue to its payroll provider and said it was working to resolve it. Outstanding contributions were paid in October, but workers said no further payments had been made to pension pots since November.
For anyone checking a payroll discrepancy, keeping payslips, payment records and written communications together can help clarify which amounts and periods remain outstanding.
Contractor payments and company background
Contractors who were let go also told reporters that final payments had been delayed. Some said they received money owed only after warning that they might take legal action. Complaints and allegations have also appeared on a Ukrainian games industry forum. Savina’s and Creamer’s LinkedIn posts were subsequently marked as violating the platform’s Professional Community Policies.
Gunzilla was founded in 2020 with $25 million in funding from GameGroove, a venture capital firm led by former Crytek Kyiv CEO Alexander Zoll. Zoll took the role of chief strategy officer at the developer. The company has offices in Frankfurt, Kyiv, Los Angeles and London.
Its debut game, Off The Grid, is a third-person battle royale announced in 2022 and developed in partnership with District 9 director Neill Blomkamp. The game included plans for optional NFT-based item trading and reportedly offered investors access to in-game valuation nodes in 2022. Originally planned for release in 2023, it entered Early Access in October 2024.
Gunzilla acquired Game Informer in 2025 after the magazine was closed by its previous owner, GameStop, and rehired the former editorial team. Companies House records show that Gunzilla’s UK arm changed its name to Geofvision on April 6. Gunzilla Games had been contacted for comment at the time of the report.
What to keep in mind about the allegations
The payment accounts described here are claims made by current and former staff and contractors; they do not, by themselves, establish the status of every employee’s pay. The reports also cover different locations, employment arrangements and time periods. Gunzilla’s response, if provided, and any later updates should be checked before treating the reported situation as current.
Overall, Gunzilla Games salary delays have been alleged across employee and contractor groups, with additional concerns raised about UK pension contributions. The accounts vary by region and date, so the distinction between individual cases and company-wide developments is important.
