PAX Unplugged Houston: dates and venue
The inaugural PAX Unplugged Houston is scheduled for Friday, June 25, through Sunday, June 27, 2027. The convention will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
Attendees planning a visit can use the confirmed dates and venue to start organizing travel. Details such as ticket prices, opening hours, and the event schedule have not yet been announced, so check for official updates before making firm plans.
What to expect at the tabletop gaming convention
The event is set to feature an expo floor for analogue gaming exhibitors, alongside panels, tournaments, community meetups, and additional programming. The format is designed to bring tabletop games and their communities together in one place.
Visitors can expect a mix of opportunities to explore games, meet other players, and take part in scheduled activities. Once the program is released, reviewing the event timetable in advance should help attendees plan around tournaments and panels they do not want to miss.
Why PAX is bringing Unplugged to Houston
PAX Unplugged first launched in Pennsylvania in 2017, with a focus on tabletop gaming. PAX event manager Sean Gonzalez said the tabletop sector continues to grow and that tabletop games have a strong following within the PAX community.
In selecting a location for another Unplugged event, the organizers considered exhibitor interest and the infrastructure available in potential host cities. Gonzalez said Houston was chosen as the best fit and described the announcement as an opportunity to reconnect with fans in the South.
PAX South was put on hold “for the foreseeable future” in 2021. Its last event took place in San Antonio in January 2020. The Houston convention will therefore bring a PAX event back to the region, while offering a distinct tabletop-centered format.
Tickets and future PAX plans
Tickets for PAX Unplugged Houston, as well as applications for media and content creators, are expected to become available later this year. Specific release dates and application requirements have not been provided.
Gonzalez said the organizers’ immediate priority is delivering a strong experience for exhibitors and attendees at existing PAX events, as well as giving the new Houston show the attention it needs. PAX East and PAX West are also adding feature areas, stages, and programming tracks, according to Gonzalez.
For anyone interested in attending, the practical next step is to monitor official event announcements for ticket information, schedules, and participation details. PAX Unplugged Houston is currently scheduled for June 25–27, 2027, at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
