The Roblox Bruno Mars virtual concert brought the singer’s music to players inside the user-created game Steal a Brainrot. Roblox Bruno Mars virtual concert audience and collectibles

Roblox described the 12.8 million concurrent users as a record for a single artist performance on its platform. During the activation, players could receive “Brunito Marsito” brainrot collectibles. Roblox reported that users accumulated 5,428,644 of these items.

The company also said the performance had 10 million livestream viewers across 14 countries and generated 53 million social video views. These figures refer to different measures: concurrent users are people online at the same time, while livestream viewers and social video views reflect separate viewing activity. They should not be added together as if they represented unique audience members.

Practical context: When comparing virtual-event statistics, check whether a figure describes peak concurrent users, total viewers, or video views. Each measures a different kind of reach.

Which songs did Bruno Mars perform?

Mars performed his new single “I Just Might” and the earlier hit “Locked Out of Heaven.” His avatar used Roblox’s standard character design and animation. That approach differed from the custom motion capture used for Lil Nas X’s Roblox performance in 2020.

Roblox’s Music Partnerships Lead, Jessica Meehan, said artist activations can introduce new experiences within games and help creators bring music and intellectual property into their worlds. The company has also previously signed a deal with Sony Music to feature the label’s artists.

How the reported figure compares with Fortnite concerts

The reported 12.8 million concurrent users is higher than the Guinness World Records entry of 12.3 million for Travis Scott’s Fortnite concert in 2020. Epic Games later claimed 14.3 million concurrent users for a major music activation featuring Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Juice WRLD and Ice Spice in 2024. These records and company-reported figures may use different event definitions, so the comparisons need that context.

Mars also appeared in Fortnite Festival, a rhythm game produced by Harmonix and released in 2023. The game lets players perform licensed songs and has featured artists including Billie Eilish, The Weeknd and Sabrina Carpenter.

What the Roblox Bruno Mars virtual concert figures show

The reported numbers highlight how music events can reach audiences through games, livestreams and social video. However, the 12.8 million concurrent-user figure, 10 million livestream viewers and 53 million social video views describe distinct measures of engagement. Roblox attributed these figures to its internal data, so readers should treat them as company-reported results.
