Arc Raiders generates $114.9m during Nexon’s Q2, sells an additional 800,000 units

Arc Raiders generated ¥18.3 billion ($114.9 million) in revenue for Nexon during the second quarter, while selling another 800,000 units. The results helped Nexon exceed expectations, alongside continued strength from its MapleStory franchise. The figures offer a useful distinction: the game’s revenue is one part of Nexon’s overall performance, which also includes operating income and results from other franchises.

Arc Raiders revenue and sales in Nexon’s Q2

Arc Raiders has generated more than ¥88 billion ($552.8 million) in revenue since launch. Its additional Q2 sales brought total units sold to 16.3 million. Nexon also said work is continuing on the game’s largest content update since launch, scheduled for October.

For players following the game, the October update is an upcoming milestone. Nexon identified the Frozen Trail update as one of the catalysts it expects to support its business in the second half of the year.

Nexon’s second-quarter financial results

  • Revenue: ¥121.1 billion ($760.8 million), up 2% year over year.
  • Operating income: ¥31.3 billion ($196.6 million), down 17%.
  • Net income: ¥29.6 billion ($185.9 million), up 77%.

Nexon said higher costs tied to its product mix contributed to the decline in operating income. These included creator fees, user acquisition expenses, cloud services used by global live games and data services, as well as software service fees. When comparing the headline figures, it is helpful to distinguish operating income—which fell—from net income, which increased.

The net income increase was primarily attributed to a smaller foreign-exchange loss. Nexon recorded a ¥1.7 billion ($10.6 million) FX loss in the quarter, compared with a ¥17.5 billion ($109.9 million) loss in Q2 2025.

How Nexon’s other game franchises performed

MapleStory, Dungeon & Fighter, and FC together generated ¥81.2 billion ($510.1 million), a 5% year-over-year decrease. MapleStory revenue rose 63%. MapleStory Worlds exceeded Nexon’s expectations, growing 123% year over year, with growth supported by two user-created worlds launched in Korea and Taiwan in late April.

Dungeon & Fighter revenue declined 44% year over year, in line with Nexon’s expectations. The company anticipates a further decline in Q3, followed by a sequential improvement. FC revenue came in below expectations: FC Online monetisation and traffic were weaker than forecast. Nexon expects the franchise’s revenue to improve sequentially after the June update.

Upcoming releases and Q3 outlook

Nexon has four games planned for 2026: Arad: Idle RPG in Q4, a mobile version of Dave the Diver in late September, Azur Promilia, and Temppal: Overgeared.

For Q3, Nexon forecasts revenue of ¥120.7 billion ($758.4 million) to ¥133.4 billion ($838.2 million), representing year-over-year growth of 2% to 12%. Operating income is expected to range from ¥22.6 billion ($142 million) to ¥32.3 billion ($202.9 million), a year-over-year decline of 40% to 14%.

Nexon pointed to ongoing MapleStory strength, the Frozen Trail update for Arc Raiders, and upcoming game launches as important second-half catalysts. It also said the success of Arc Raiders in Western markets supports its global expansion plans. For readers tracking the company, the key takeaway is that Arc Raiders’ Q2 sales and revenue contributed to a strong quarter, even as operating income declined amid higher costs.
