Net revenue and net bookings are related but distinct measures, so they may not move in step over a particular quarter. Looking at both can help readers understand company performance beyond a single headline figure.
Recurring spending and revenue mix
Recurring consumer spending generated 82% of total net bookings and rose 7% year over year. Mobile recurring spending also increased 7%, while spending in Grand Theft Auto Online grew 5%.
Mobile accounted for 50% of Take-Two’s net revenue in FY2026. The company attributed 39% to “PC and other” and 11% to console. These figures offer a snapshot of the business mix for the year; they do not indicate how each platform will perform in future periods.
NBA 2K, Zynga and Grand Theft Auto contribute
CEO Strauss Zelnick said NBA 2K recorded its highest net bookings and recurring consumer spending to date for the full financial year. Recurring consumer spending for the franchise increased 10%, and NBA 2K26 had shipped 10 million units by the time of the announcement.
Zynga also delivered its highest net bookings since Take-Two acquired the mobile game company for $12.7 billion in 2022. Zelnick cited Toon Blast, Match Factory and Empires and Puzzles among the games contributing to bookings. For readers following the company’s results, this highlights the importance of mobile titles alongside its console and PC releases.
Grand Theft Auto continued to exceed the company’s expectations and remained a significant source of net bookings. Recurring consumer spending for the franchise increased 5% during FY2026.
Take-Two’s FY2027 outlook
Take-Two’s initial outlook for the financial year ending March 31, 2027, puts net bookings between $8 billion and $8.2 billion. The company forecasts net revenue of $7.9 billion to $8.1 billion. Compared with FY2026, that revenue range would represent growth of 27.4% to 30.6%.
Zelnick described FY2027 as a potential breakout year and said the company expects Grand Theft Auto 6 to help establish new levels of operational performance. These figures are forecasts, not guaranteed outcomes; actual results may differ as the year progresses.
He also pointed to Take-Two’s mobile business, which currently represents about half of the company’s operations. Zelnick noted that mobile can reach large audiences in places such as India and Africa, where smartphones are widely used and PC and console access is less common.
What the results mean
The Take-Two FY2026 results combine solid annual growth with a flatter final quarter for net bookings. NBA 2K, Zynga’s mobile portfolio and Grand Theft Auto Online supported recurring spending, while the company’s FY2027 forecast signals that it expects a further step up, led by Grand Theft Auto 6. When assessing that outlook, compare the company’s projections with reported results as new financial updates become available.
