NetEase revenue in 2025: annual and gaming results
Revenue from NetEase’s gaming segment rose 10.1% year over year to RMB 92.1 billion ($13.2 billion). The segment generated RMB 83.6 billion ($12.1 billion) in 2024. Online games accounted for 97.3% of gaming revenue in 2025.
NetEase linked the increase in net sales to titles including Fantasy Westward Journey Online, Identity V, Where Winds Meet and Marvel Rivals. For readers comparing the company’s results, it is useful to distinguish the gaming segment’s performance from total company revenue: gaming grew faster than the overall business during the year.
Fourth-quarter revenue and game performance
In the fourth quarter, NetEase reported RMB 27.5 billion ($3.9 billion) in total revenue, up 3% from the same period a year earlier. Gaming revenue for the quarter was RMB 22 billion ($3.1 billion), representing year-over-year growth of 3.4%.
The company attributed quarterly sales growth to Fantasy Westward Journey Online, Marvel Rivals and Everstone Studios’ Where Winds Meet. NetEase said its established franchises maintained strong player engagement. It also reported that Where Winds Meet had passed 80 million cumulative players worldwide.
NetEase additionally described annual revenue from Blizzard titles in China as reaching a record high, citing expanded content and localised experiences. The company did not provide a revenue figure for those titles in the reported information.
NetEase’s plans for AI in game development
NetEase said it has integrated AI across its game development and innovation processes, including art, design, programming, animation and quality assurance. The company plans to use AI to support scalable production and introduce dynamic, AI-native gameplay features in multiple flagship games.
CEO and director William Ding said the year’s results reflected the durability of NetEase’s long-term game operations and the growing contribution of its global titles. He described AI as a core capability for development and operations, saying its current uses are improving production efficiency and enabling new interactive experiences.
Ding also said the company intends to develop its creative talent ecosystem, work more closely with partners worldwide and advance its AI capabilities. These priorities, he said, are intended to support the longevity of its franchises and deliver new experiences to players and value to shareholders.
