The Reboot Develop bankruptcy proceedings have intensified uncertainty about the future of the Croatian game development conference. A court in Zagreb has ordered the organiser to begin bankruptcy proceedings over unpaid debts, while the Dubrovnik venue that hosted the event says it has no booking for 2026 and will no longer host the conference.
Reboot Develop bankruptcy order and reported debts
Digitalna avantura, the company behind Reboot Develop Blue and operated by Damir Đurović, has been ordered to pay €2,000 to commence bankruptcy proceedings. A court judgment cited €520,000 in unpaid debts and found that the company did not have enough assets to cover its outstanding liabilities. The debt figure and case details were reported by Croatian media.
The order adds to concerns that had been growing for months. Attempts by several parties to reach Đurović have reportedly been unsuccessful, and no other employees are currently known to be working for the company. A bankruptcy order concerning the organiser does not, by itself, establish every detail of what will happen to the event or to ticket holders, so people with outstanding bookings should keep payment records and seek information through their original purchase channels.
What the venue’s statement means for the 2026 event
The Dubrovnik hotel that hosted Reboot Develop Blue from 2015 confirmed that it has not received a booking for 2026 and will no longer host the conference. The event has typically taken place in April and celebrated its tenth anniversary at the venue the previous year.
This confirms that the conference will not return to that location in 2026. It does not, on its own, confirm whether the organisers could arrange an event elsewhere. No alternative venue or replacement plan has been reported. Anyone planning travel around the conference should verify dates and venue details before making non-refundable arrangements.
Reboot Develop’s history and importance
Launched in 2014, Reboot Develop aimed to bring game developers and industry professionals together for a high-level conference. Its Dubrovnik setting, international keynote speakers and informal atmosphere helped it become a prominent event for the games industry, including developers from Eastern Europe.
Digitalna avantura was also associated with Reboot Infogamer, a consumer games event in Zagreb that last ran in 2024. The company’s last publicly available accounts were for that year, reporting €1.12 million in revenue and a profit of €139,000. Those historical figures do not establish the company’s current financial position, which is addressed separately in the court proceedings.
A Canadian counterpart, Reboot Develop Red, launched in Banff in 2019. Its planned event the following year was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it did not return.
What attendees and developers should know
Questions about the conference had already surfaced after ticket buyers reported difficulty contacting the company about refunds. Some local developers were still expected to gather in the Dubrovnik area in mid-April, although that informal gathering should not be confused with a confirmed, officially organised conference.
- Check directly with the ticket seller or payment provider about any refund request.
- Keep order confirmations, receipts and correspondence related to bookings.
- Do not assume that a local gathering is an official replacement for Reboot Develop Blue.
The Reboot Develop bankruptcy case and the absence of a 2026 venue booking leave the conference’s next steps unclear. For now, the confirmed information is that the Dubrovnik venue will not host the event in 2026; any further plans would need to be announced separately.
