PC and console revenue charts led by new releases in August | Newzoo charts

The August 2026 game revenue charts feature several new releases among the top-performing PC and console titles. EA Sports Madden NFL 27 opened at No. 2 on console, while House House’s co-op game Big Walk reached No. 3 on PC. The rankings also show how downloadable content, returning players, and subscription catalogues can influence game performance and engagement.

August 2026 game revenue charts: notable releases

Star Wars Zero Company debuted at No. 6 on PC and No. 20 on console. Mortal Shell 2 and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam also appeared in the top 20 on both platforms. On console, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls entered at No. 14. On PC, How to Fish debuted at No. 9, while No More Room in Hell 2 ranked No. 19.

These positions offer a snapshot of revenue rankings for the month, rather than a measure of total players. When comparing a game’s commercial performance with its audience, it is useful to distinguish revenue charts from monthly active user (MAU) rankings.

Pokémon Pokopia rises after DLC release

Pokémon Pokopia climbed 21 places on the console revenue chart, moving from No. 28 to No. 7 after the launch of its Bubbly Basin DLC. The update is the first of three planned paid content releases. For players following the game’s additions, checking the content included in each update can help clarify what is available before purchasing.

Newzoo market analyst Mert Şahin said Madden NFL 27 benefited from the strength of an established annual franchise. He also pointed to Star Wars Zero Company’s globally recognised intellectual property, strong reviews, and positive word-of-mouth as factors supporting its launch.

Monthly active users: collaborations and subscriptions

MAU rankings highlight a different part of the market: how many people are playing, rather than how much revenue a title generated. Fortnite rose to No. 3 on PC and stayed No. 1 on console. Chapter 7 Season 4: Override brought in characters and content from Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, and Kingdom Hearts, reflecting the game’s use of high-profile entertainment and gaming collaborations.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 moved up 12 places to No. 12 in console MAU rankings ahead of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere. A free suit inspired by the movie and a limited-time discount helped provide reasons for players to return. The example illustrates how related entertainment releases can renew interest in games connected to the same franchise.

Helldivers 2 climbed 30 places on console and 14 on PC, reaching No. 19 on both platforms in the MAU rankings. Its addition to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogues coincided with the increase. The game also rose from No. 50 to No. 18 in the PC revenue rankings.

What the August 2026 game revenue charts show

The August 2026 game revenue charts combine established franchises with new releases, while the MAU results point to the role of seasonal updates, cross-franchise collaborations, and subscription access in bringing players to games. Revenue and active-user rankings measure different things, so readers should consider both when assessing a title’s overall momentum.
