Save the Children announces its first game and streaming fundraising event called Save Point

Save Point is Save the Children’s first gaming and livestream fundraising event, bringing gamers and online creators together to support the charity’s work. Scheduled for December 5–6, 2026, the event offers an accessible way for people to raise funds through gaming and streaming.

What is Save Point?

Save Point is designed to connect Save the Children with the gaming community, including both established partners and individual supporters. Senior fundraising manager Fiona Baxter says the event grew from the charity’s wider aim to build stronger relationships with gamers.

Unlike fundraising challenges that require a particular level of physical fitness, a gaming livestream can offer another way to take part. Supporters can use their interest in games to engage an online audience and raise funds for a charitable cause.

Practical tip: Anyone considering a fundraising stream can start by thinking about the game, format and audience that would suit them. The charity says participants can receive information about setting up a fundraising livestream after registering their interest.

Creator partnership and future plans

Save the Children is partnering with online creator and streamer TheKapFantastic. Earlier in 2026, the creator raised more than £5,000 for the charity. The collaboration is part of an effort to encourage more people in gaming communities to learn about the organisation’s work and get involved.

For Save the Children, success will not only be measured by the funds raised during the event. Baxter also hopes participants will feel encouraged to support the charity through gaming again. The organisation plans to use feedback from this first fundraiser to inform future gaming events.

That learning process may help the charity understand what formats work well for streamers and their audiences. For participants, clear communication about the fundraising purpose can help viewers understand how their support contributes to the event.

How Save Point connects to the Christmas campaign

Save Point forms part of Save the Children’s “The One Delivery That Matters” campaign, which launches in November 2026. The campaign draws attention to children who need essential support, including food, medicine, warm clothing and a safe place to sleep.

Baxter notes that convenient deliveries are part of everyday life for many people, while for millions of children, essential supplies can be critical to their safety and wellbeing. The campaign uses that contrast to highlight needs that can be especially urgent during the Christmas season.

Why gaming fundraisers can matter

Gaming brings people together around shared interests, stories and online communities. A charity livestream can give supporters a familiar setting in which to raise awareness and invite donations. It also creates an opportunity for charities to build lasting connections with gamers and streamers, rather than treating a single event as a one-off activity.

Save Point will take place on December 5 and 6, 2026. People interested in taking part can register their interest with Save the Children and request information about arranging a fundraising livestream. As the charity’s first event of this kind, Save Point will also help shape how its gaming fundraising develops in the years ahead.
